What is Reverend Genes?
Reverend Genes is a 100% independent, DIY recording project that releases music and videos about sustainability. Themes include:
- climate action
- preserving peace
- resisting oligarchy and tyranny
- celebrating equality and diversity
- promoting education and science
- protecting biodiversity and ecosystems, and
- supporting democracy and public services.
Reverend Genes is based in Lake Macquarie NSW Australia.
Why does Reverend Genes donate?
Reverend Genes is interested in the politics and social structures that impact our natural world. Reverend Genes releases music as part of trying to understand the events that shape our planet. So, the focus is on music and communication. Not money. Any money that is generated, is best in the hands of organisations who can put it to good use.
In 2025 Reverend Genes is fundraising for the Red Cross in support of people who have been impacted by war in Ukraine. All streaming royalties and profits from digital music sales will be donated via the following campaign hosted by Red Cross Australia at act.redcross.org.au/fundraisers/reverendgenes.
Reverend Genes is also maintaining a fundraising link to WWF-Australia. People who would like to support Australia’s unique wildlife, like our endangered koalas, are encouraged to visit: fundraise.wwf.org.au/
