At We Resist – Web Radio Collective you don’t need a lot of fancy equipment to Guest DJ or have a regular show. A set up as simple as a recording app on your phone and a quiet space to work will produce good audio. You can, of course, get as audiophile as you like and we won’t mind that sound love at all.

Who Can Guest DJ?

We are looking for folks who are concerned about the world we live in and have constructive, thoughtful, possibly entertaining things to share with the world about that. We are starting out offering two hour max show slots.  Send us an email or use our submission form with your show idea and we will be in touch if we feel it might be a good fit for our station!

How Do I DJ Online?

It’s pretty simple, really. We take the technical aspects of streaming off your plate. You don’t need subscription DJ software or a shoutcast service. We also handle editing and adding in your track list per your instructions on our end. Currently, we are not asking for any fees for this program. We will, however, gladly accept your donations to help cover station expenses. to We encourage amateur and seasoned pros alike to join us! Your show will stream to the US, UK and Canada under out royalties licensing with Live365.

Follow this checklist for creating your show audio and submitting.

  1. What music will you play?: Choose the music tracks you would like to play and as you listen to them write down your thoughts in a way that makes sense for you. Your thoughts don’t have to necessarily have to be about the music, maybe the music inspires your words? It helps to create a script even if it’s just bullet points. You will need to send us the audio files you wish to play. We can accept music from CD’s you own and music you have purchased for download. We will set up a shared google drive folder for you to share your music tracks and show audio.

  2. Record: Record your show. You can use your phone, but we recommend learning the basics of how to record into DAW (digital audio workspace). I personally have used the APP Audacity for years and love it. You can even share your file straight from the workspace to our google drive folder.

Online shows usually follow a flow similar to the outline below:

    – Introduction: Tell your audience who you are and give them a quick overview of what your show will be sharing with your audience.

    – Dead space: If you intend to play music tracks here. Leave a short 10 seconds of quiet in the track. That lets us know where to insert the music in final.

Resume your audio recording and repeat!

    – Continue repeating this workflow until you have completed your recording.

  3. Send us your Files and Tracklist: We will set up a private folder for you on our Google drive. We’ll edit, add the songs, adjust the levels and boost the quality of your recording if needed. We accept most audio formats, but MP3 is preferred. We are licensed to play most music you select. Your show will be ready to air 7 days after submission.
